About the Project
Soloan wished for a single product carrier capable of handling no fewer than one hundred different products. The manufacturing company sought a solution to automatically transport products of varying sizes within a spray booth. For concept design and FEA analysis, Soloan turned to Vicoma.
Vicoma was tasked with improving the initial product carrier concept and performing strength calculations. The main challenge was designing a carrier that could easily clamp products of different sizes.
The final design comprises three components:
a carrying arm, an outer beam that attaches to the transport line, and an adjustable inner beam that slides smoothly into the outer beam via plastic sliding plates.
Vicoma’s Role
We enhanced the basic concept, achieving significant technical improvements. Vicoma conducted a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure the product carrier’s strength and durability.
Strength calculations confirmed that the carrier could reliably clamp both small and large products. Our analysis identified necessary modifications, which we implemented to meet all strength requirements. We also developed the basic engineering for the sliding principle of the adjustable carrier, successfully completing the project.
Result
A substantial enhancement of the original concept resulting in a fully functional, adjustable product carrier.
