Qirion: Collaboration is key to success

About the Project

“Can you also help us model our primary installations and cables?” That was the question Qirion brought to us. This isn’t something Vicoma does every day, so we had to give it some thought. With our multidisciplinary expertise in substations, modelling, logic, and pragmatism, we quickly realised we could take on the challenge; and gladly accepted.

Vicoma’s Role

Using the 3D software Revit, we supported Qirion and Liander in modelling the primary installations for various projects. We also handled the cable modelling. By combining our strengths with those of Qirion’s engineers, we pooled all the necessary knowledge and expertise. Thanks to our contribution, capacity gaps were bridged, ensuring projects didn’t stall but progressed smoothly.

Our previous close collaboration meant we already knew each other well, which benefited the process. The Architecture & Engineering team maintained focus on the bigger picture, and communication ran seamlessly.

Result

“Standing still is moving backwards” is a well-known saying; and in this case, our combined quantitative and qualitative efforts ensured just that didn’t happen. Together, we successfully delivered multiple projects. Through careful engineering and strict quality control, we contributed to a reliable energy supply; an appropriate answer to a challenging question!
