About the Project
Hofmeyer Investments sought to develop a commercial building. Approximately half of the premises was already leased to the indoor play centre Pret Inn, while the other half was intended as a flexible-use space.
Vicoma’s Role
Working within a construction team alongside Dura Vermeer, we were involved from the very outset. The process proved highly dynamic, with requirements evolving continually. Partway through, a new request was added: to enhance the building’s sustainability. Vicoma was responsible for the programme of requirements, the design, technical development, and the planning permission process. The structural engineer, as well as the safety and fire safety advisers, operated under our direction.
Result
An excellent result, delivered within budget. In close cooperation with consultants and the contractor, we achieved optimal solutions. For instance, the indoor play centre features underfloor heating and enhanced thermal insulation for the façade. Solar panels on the roof provide energy self-sufficiency. Our design included large openings in both the façade and roof, ensuring an abundance of natural daylight and creating a bright, playful atmosphere.
