About the Project
Oskomera was operating across no fewer than seven different sites when they approached us to assess the feasibility of consolidating into a single location. It soon became clear that a straightforward consolidation would not generate sufficient returns to justify new construction. Following our initial research, the problem definition was refined, leading to the key question: can our processes be restructured in a way that makes new construction financially viable?
Vicoma’s Role
Vicoma carried out an in-depth feasibility study and analysed the company’s entire operational process. Our findings revealed that Oskomera could increase production from a single manufacturing site; using fewer people, reducing logistics costs, and holding less inventory.
The resulting savings would more than offset the additional investment in new construction.
Convinced by our conclusions, Oskomera asked us to take the project further. We developed the complete design, prepared detailed technical specifications, and managed the entire project from start to finish.
Result
A sustainable and efficient solution. By consolidating operations across the various sites, Oskomera achieved optimal use of production and storage facilities, significantly increased flexibility, and greatly reduced internal transport movements.
We ensured nothing was left to chance during construction; and just nine months after breaking ground, Oskomera’s new facility was up and running.
