About the Project
Majestic urgently required a new, larger site for the distribution of their products. The company was experiencing rapid growth and engaged Vicoma to assist with this process. We advised them on the choice of location and the development of the logistical concept, as well as designing their new warehouse.
Vicoma’s Role
Vicoma first conducted a centre of gravity and supply analysis; a proven method for identifying the optimal logistical location for a company. Using the results, we began searching for a suitable site. Majestic’s clients specialise in the petrochemical industry, and products are frequently delivered by ship. For this reason, we sought a location close to a port. The choice fell on Bergen op Zoom, an ideal location with two ports just a stone’s throw away: Rotterdam and Antwerp. We drafted the Programme of Requirements, developed the design, and supervised the construction of the new facility for Majestic.
Result
A distribution centre designed to accommodate further growth. The building is divided into three compartments and is suitable for both wide and narrow aisles. A mezzanine floor above the dispatch area provides additional usable floor space. The entire building is equipped with an ESFR sprinkler system and offers a maximum storage height of 11.8 metres.
