About the Project
KLK Kolb, a producer of semi-finished surfactant products, aimed to increase production capacity by 20% while simultaneously achieving significant energy savings. To explore the feasibility of these goals, they asked Vicoma to assess the possibilities and provide a clear roadmap.
Vicoma’s Role
To map out the objectives and requirements, Vicoma assigned an employee to work on-site several days a week. Over a three-month period, we gathered all relevant information. Our analysis revealed that achieving the two main goals required four distinct sub-projects. The first focused on examining and visualising the expansion of production capacity. The second addressed potential energy savings. Automation was the theme of the third sub-project, while the fourth comprehensively analysed the impact on logistical movements within the company.
Result
Our comprehensive analysis demonstrated that KLK Kolb could achieve a 20% production increase alongside an estimated 40% reduction in energy use. A detailed scope and cost estimate were documented, providing KLK Kolb with a solid foundation for informed decision-making and future investment.
