About the Project
IAMS approached Vicoma to relocate their logistics operations for food, care products, and accessories for aquarium animals and fish from Germany to the Netherlands. The new logistics hall needed to be fully operational within a tight nine-month timeframe.
The Role of Vicoma
Vicoma was involved from the initial design phase through to the project’s successful completion. We took on project management responsibilities and led consultants specialising in structural engineering, installations, and fire safety. Our scope included handling the building permit, assisting IAMS with contractor selection, tendering, and contract formation. Throughout construction, Vicoma acted as IAMS’ representative, closely overseeing the execution of the work.
Result
The project delivered a clear, functional building volume that integrates seamlessly with the existing structure. It provides additional storage capacity for approximately 11,700 pallets, along with a small-scale logistics office featuring expansion possibilities on the upper floor.
And all of this was achieved within the ambitious nine-month deadline. Impossible? Not for us.
