Goodman Venlo: Market-compliant distribution centre in new corporate identity

About the Project

Goodman, a global leader in logistics real estate, engaged Vicoma as a trusted advisor for their project at “Klaver 2C” within Trade Port Noord, Venlo. Guided by Goodman’s high functional and aesthetic standards, as set out in their “European Guideline,” Vicoma was tasked with designing a distribution centre that would seamlessly fit the brand’s identity. Time was critical, as a tenant had already been secured, requiring a swift permit application and timely handover.

Vicoma’s Role

Leveraging our expertise in logistics, architecture, and construction, Vicoma navigated complex fire safety requirements imposed by the local safety region. An innovative solution was implemented for rainwater management: due to the high building coverage, infiltration crates were installed beneath the parking lot to efficiently manage runoff.

Vicoma oversaw the entire design process through to permit documentation, submitted the building permit application on Goodman’s behalf, and prepared the technical design.

Throughout the tender process, our flexible design approach allowed for easy integration of tenant-specific requirements. We also provided aesthetic guidance during construction to maintain the architectural integrity and quality of the project.

Result

The result is a striking distribution centre designed in Goodman’s distinctive European style, further strengthening their portfolio in one of the Netherlands’ key logistics hubs. This facility meets both practical demands and high design standards, making it a valuable asset in the southern logistics hotspot.
