About the Project
A skid is a frame on which process systems, installations, or modules can be mounted. Hydrogen Utopia International (HUI) required a new skid for their pyrolysis project. Their objective was to convert waste in the form of End Of Life (EOL) plastics into hydrogen through a pyrolysis process. They commissioned Electron ETG for the manufacturing due to their specialised knowledge in pyrolysis. Electron ETG, in turn, engaged us to carry out the engineering of the installation.
Vicoma’s Role
Vicoma conducted a feasibility study, systematically assessing the technical viability of the project. Could the intended goal be achieved?
We established the fundamental principles by producing a Process Flow Diagram (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (PID), Heat and Mass Balance, and a detailed process description.
Using this data, we developed the basic engineering package. Our multidisciplinary expertise proved invaluable, encompassing piping, process, equipment, instrumentation, electrical engineering, civil and mechanical engineering, as well as comprehensive project management. We took care of every aspect.
Result
With our thorough basic engineering package, HUI obtained precisely what they required: a solid foundation for procuring contractors and suppliers.
“I am pleased with the progress that Electron and its subcontractor Vicoma, have made in the technical design of this new system for producing syngas from waste materials. We are now looking forward to the testing phase and ultimately the development of the system for installation on site.”
Keith Riley, Director of HUI.
