About the Project
DFM, a subsidiary of DSM, is a longstanding client of Vicoma. At DSM Desotech, they produce specialised printer fluid for a unique form of 3D printing—where objects are cured in a bath of fluid using a laser or LED projection.
For the Eris Project, Vicoma was tasked with engineering a new production unit for this printer fluid. What made the project especially challenging was the ambitious timeline: just nine months from start to finish. Adding to the complexity, DFM wanted to repurpose existing reactor vessels shipped from the United States.
Vicoma’s Role
We were responsible for adapting the reactor vessels for integration into the new production unit. The project was distinctly multidisciplinary in nature. Vicoma carried out the feasibility study, followed by both basic and detailed engineering. In addition, we managed procurement, construction supervision, and overall construction management; ensuring seamless coordination throughout all project phases.
Result
Thanks to streamlined coordination and efficient project execution, the new production unit was delivered on time and to full satisfaction; a remarkable achievement considering the compressed nine-month schedule.
