About the Project
The name Cooler Master says it all; they keep your devices cool. Known for producing IT components and developing LED lighting, Cooler Master needed to relocate its European headquarters from Venlo to Eindhoven. Why Eindhoven? As a city renowned for its technical innovation and international outlook, it was a natural fit for the company’s ambitions. For this important step, Cooler Master turned to Vicoma for guidance and support.
Vicoma’s Role
Vicoma designed a new, modern, small-scale distribution centre with an integrated office. We were responsible for both the architectural and technical development of the exterior and interior. Additionally, we took care of the necessary permit applications and provided construction supervision throughout the process.
Result
The new headquarters replaced part of a former Philips factory from the 1930s. The result is a high-quality, sustainable new-build, developed with a clear focus on future-proofing. Sustainability was assessed using the GPR methodology, with both the hall and the office achieving a score of 4 out of 5 stars.
The building envelope features excellent insulation (R-value > 5.0 m²K/W), and the design maximises natural daylight. Structurally, the office was prepared to accommodate a potential third floor; because good design always plans ahead.
To govern is to foresee.
