About the Project
With the rapid rise of smart devices and the expanding Internet of Things (IoT), Advantech, a global leader in this sector, faced growing demand for its products. To support this growth, Advantech planned an expansion of its Eindhoven location at Science Park and turned to Vicoma for assistance.
Vicoma’s Role
Advantech had been considering expanding their site for several years. Vicoma developed a series of design proposals, from initial sketches to fully detailed drawings. After persistent efforts and securing approval from Advantech’s headquarters in Taiwan, the project moved forward. Working closely in a Design & Build partnership with Dura Vermeer, Vicoma finalised the design and oversaw the successful realisation of the expansion.
Result
The project resulted in a substantial increase in warehouse, assembly, and office space. Thanks to clever design solutions and tightly coordinated planning, Advantech’s operations continued uninterrupted during construction. The expansion was celebrated in true Taiwanese style with a dragon dance inauguration; an exciting cultural twist on the usual Dutch traditions!
